Understated Chic | Summer in the City
I've felt very comfortable with my personal style for a while now. What people have called weird, random, or odd, I've redefined as comfortable, chic and edgy. I call it the "understated chic'. I've spent more time in the city lately, the downtown area in Winnipeg is really underrated and the parks have been great for letting my hair down.
The temperature drop has been blissful. Its finally my favourite summer temperature; a little wind and a little windy. Its perfect because it makes me think of summer in more prestige destinations, think The Hamptons or St Tropez.
With labour day around the corner, my white pieces are out to play. I know the rule about no white after labour day, but when it comes down to it nobody really cares about fashion rules these days. For an understated chic moment, I paired my white button down this high waisted burgundy shots and some flowered sandals. A boater hat is also great for keeping the sun out of your eyes, so instead of a pair of sunnies, a hat came in handy.
This summer felt like a complicated romantic relationship. A mix of fun and whirlwind of work. I experimented a lot with my style and style interests and I am already planning next summer. I can't wait to see what the rest of the season brings. But its definitely going to be difficult to top this.
