I've been feeling very out of it lately. A bit disconnected from my creative side and a little bit more emotional than normal. It took three attempts at self evaluation and a much needed sick day to admit to myself that I have been taking on a lot more than I can handle. I've always been very comfortable with pushing myself to the extreme to meet personal goals, but its becoming more evident to me that I need to be nicer to myself if I want to put out my best work, more selfcare.
I came across a post by a blogger friend talking about having to take time away from being on social media and putting out any creative content in order to centre herself. That was the most honest post I had come across that week and I really needed to know that. Its great to know that someone else is feeling what your feeling. Not in a misery loves company kind of way, but in a "we are all humans after all " kind of way. It reminded me to treat my creative space a bit more delicately. To understand when I am a bit off and to actively work on staying present.
In my first "Ode to selfceare" post, I alluded to many selfcare practices that I was incorporating into my lifestyle. Those were all great practices that I had remind myself of. Selfcare is not a monthly or annually routine, its a daily process. Make sure to check on your self as the day goes by. I find that if you shelf your emotions and process them as soon as you can, you prevent bigger breakdowns and leave room to take in more life experiences.
And when it comes to work, choose a balanced approach. Equal parts work and life. I know for a lot of people, taking a moment out of your day to breath might not be the easiest thing but remember that you can't do your best if you are not your best self. So take a day off, centre yourself, find a meaning to want to go, pat yourself on your back. Do the things that put you in high spirits every now and again. Its okay to take a break, as long as you don't stop going.
I am wearing one of my favourite trends for fall 2018 and that is the blazer co-od set. I was going for a laid back business casual look. I opted for open toe heels to ground the look a bit and not make it too professional. I added my dark blue blue city bag because I love styling complimentary tones and it went really well with the blue blazer (suit) set.
