Lately I've been coming across a lot of conversations amount body image and I have been seeing a lot of body shaming going on various social media and I believe we should talk about it. Honestly, I've never really had a big problem with how I look, but after I came across a conversation describing the perfect standards and what an "ideal model" should look like I started to reexamine myself. This period of self-scrutiny left a bad taste in my mouth because It actually caused me to look down on some of my favourite features.
I dealt with this situation by taking some time off from modelling, just so I could get reacquainted with myself, I made sure to admire features and appreciate them. Being a model who is 5'6 is tricky but I realized that its one of my favourite things about myself, and honestly I won't change that for anything. If you ever get to a phase where you are not just body positive, take a few days to get reacquainted with yourself, your features and emotions. Realize that there is ideal body type and that nobody has a right to police your body or style except you.
I got dressed in the simplest outfit I could find, threw on the all purpose scarf by OASAP and ran outside for some photos just so I can post this LOL. But really, Love yourself even on your worst days, and stay body positive!
