Hey guys, I want to take it back to the beginning today with a random musing post. I was thinking about what I would say to myself of two or three years ago, and here are six things that I would like myself from a few years ago to know:
Dear me,
1.) Age and Accomplishment should be totally independent: Each and stage in life is totally independent, appreciate your success at each level, no matter how small that success is. Beating yourself up about goals is not as productive as accepting what you have at hand, and enjoying the year. Be grateful for what you have, and remember that you are only in competition with your past.
2.) Learn to say NO: Say no if it does not sit well with you, say no if you do not accept a situation. basically if you cannot afford to do something, say no...it will save you a world of trouble!
3.) Take breaks: Take as many breaks as you can afford, take breaks from situations, projects and people. After a break, things usually become clearer, an easier to manage.
4.) Be nice: Be nice to to yourself, be nice to people around you, be nice to strangers...basically be the person you would expect to meet. Life would be way easier for everyone if people would give a little time to help.
5.) Work Hard: Work hard for what you believe in, commit yourself to your goals; invest your time and effort into those goals. At the end of the day, we only succeed at the things that we apply ourselves too. Don't be afraid of failure, sometimes it is an indication that things will go right soon.
6.) Live: Make sure to laugh at the little things, laugh loud, appreciate everyday blessings, enjoy your cup of coffee, keep the right people around you and generally make sure that you have the right vibe around you. Remember that life is what we make of it and happiness is a state of mind.
