This month, I visited Toronto for the first time. I know a lot of people are shocked by this bit of information, but it's actually my first visit and it has been on my list of places to visit for forever! I was so excited to see the city as well as attend my first ever African Fashion Week Toronto. Let me tell you about my first trip to Toronto.
While in the city, I did more of eating out than actually touring the city. I stayed at The Hilton Garden Inn (Mississauga) which was close to the airport and had one of the best restaurants I've ever visited. The combo of the peaceful hotel and aesthetically pleasing restaurant made my nights and mornings really lovely.
Toronto Trip Day 1
One of my first days, I took the UP Express train and visited the Eaton Centre on Yonge street, where I indulged in shopping (of course) and trying out sweets and smoothies. I did get lost a couple of times on my way to the mall but that added to the thrill of the journey. I had a quick slider for lunch.
I then had dinner at Jack Astor's Bar and Grill in Vaughn. The restaurant served amazing Italian shrimp and chicken pasta and some water and lemon - my signature. After dinner, I indulged in a ride around the city, checking out the major landmarks from the outside since everything was closed. The looked amazing at night.
Toronto Trip Day 2 & 3
My favorite parts of the trip were getting to meet other bloggers and stylists and getting to collaborate and connect with them. I met fellow blogger Ellah who was so friendly and welcoming. We shot a couple of videos together and went together to the African Fashion Week Toronto opening soiree.
The atmosphere at the event was fun and exciting. We had photo sessions, met with different vendors and just had a great time. I was wishing for a longer trip the whole time I was there.
Toronto Trip Day 4
On my last full day in Toronto, I made sure to get the most out of my wardrobe. I dropped by the Zara store at the Square One mall to pick up a couple of items that had caught my eye earlier.
In the evening, I attended the 3rd event of the African Fashion Week Toronto where I was pleasantly impressed by the runways and designers. It was such a fun atmosphere and a great end to my final night in Toronto.
There definitely will be another trip to Toronto as four days is just too short haha! My only regret was that I didn't have enough time to really see the city, but that's okay because a quick trip will fix that soon!
I "vlogged" a bit of everything on my Instagram. Check out the "Toronto" highlight and see more of it.
